Accommodation in ForrestForrest is a small town of around 200 residents. Established around the logging industry with many old disused mill sites still in existance.
There is a pub with great meals. Many accomodation options including a caravan park. A milk bar/post office.
The town also plays host to many festivals year round with the focal point being the Forrest Community House.
The Otway Odyssey and Kona 24 hour MTB races are held here each year as well.

Once you are here, there are plenty of activities to get into.

  3. Bushwalking
  4. Lake Elizabeth for bush walking and platypus sightings
  5. Drives around the surrounding area - Lorne, Apollo Bay, Gellibrand
  6. Beechy Rail trail that leaves from Colac to Beech Forrest
  7. Otway Fly
  8. Fishing and surfing
  9. Great family picnic/BBQ set up at the West Barwon Dam in Forrest
  10. Berry farms and wineries in Deans Marsh area

There is limited food supplies in Forrest, the nearest supermarket is in Winchelsea, Colac or Apollo Bay, however the Forrest General Store stocks a good range of essentials.
Closest fuel is available in Barwon Downs - 7km away.
Cafes & Restaurants located in Apollo Bay, Colac, Birregurra, Deans Marsh & Lorne
Mobile coverage is extremely limited in the Otway region, even with Telstra Next G service.
