Our first publication 'Hop Growing at Forrest" is now available for purchase.
It covers the history of this crop from the mid 1870's to the late 1940's.
It provided a source of income for many of the town's folk - men, women and children played a large part in the harvesting season. Names such as Blundy, Ireland and Bartlett were involved in its growing along the river flats of the Barwon River.
The book can be purchased from Pam Jennings, PO Box 1187 Geelong 3220. Cost $10 plus $3 postage.
Proceeds from the sale go to assist further book publications which help to preserve the history of our local region.
