Otway Odyssey 2009

Over 1700 people were in Forrest this weekend, to experience the now infamous Otway Odyssey.
The race that concludes in Forrest, has quickly become the toughest one day Mountain bike race in Australia.  This year the course attracted a very stong field, and a new course record was set in both the mens and womens category.

Some notable performances by Forrest MTB Club Members:
100K Race
Emma Colson: 2nd Elite Women.
Jess Douglas: 7th Elite Women
Phil Anderson: 1st Masters Men
Dave Olle: 3rd Masters Men
Daryl Burns: 22nd Open Men

50K Race

Jayden Murnane 3rd Open Men
Peter McDonough: 5th Open Men
Calum Middleton: 3rd Junior Men
Tom Power: 8th Junior Men
Hamish Middleton: 12th Junior Men (at only 13 years of age).
Simon Harrington: 15th Junior Men

Other club members who completed in the 100K and 50K were:
Holly Lusher, Ian Coe, Neil Middleton, Cameron Wade, Jonathon Wade, Andrew Yarde.

Was an awesome event all over.  Special mention must go to all those who helped on Friday night with our sausage sizzle.  The club managed to raise well over $700 during the event.
