Forrest Mountain Bike Trails, Australia's number 1 Mountain Bike destination - Forrest Accommodation

Members of the Forrest Mountain bike club met with DELWP at yesterday's trail maintenance meeting.  Discussions focussed on the viability of reopening "Red Carpet"  and "Follow the dog" in time for the school holidays, amongst  a few other items.
Given the seriously heavy rain and flooding in the area in the last few days it's been decided that "Red Carpet" and "Follow the dog" will remain closed for a little while longer.

Recent inspection of the new works on Red Carpet would indicate that it is just holding up okay.

During the course of DEPI's safety audits of the trail systems one of the items that was noted as being of a priority to repair were the slippery bridge surfaces.

As a result of that process DEPI made a bid for funding in July 2014 through the Public Safety on Public Land Initiative.
